Proud of my families contribution to our countries freedom.  My Uncle Les and a distant cousin met up in France to meet these charming Parisians. 


McNabb /Noble War soldiers:
Civil War:  my great great grandfather Addison McNabb (Indiana) fought along -side his brother Ezra McNabb(Indiana) in the Civil War in the Battle of Chickamauga (1863) and the Battle of Missionary Ridge (nicknamed The Battle Above the Clouds). 
Their brother Horton McNabb (Indiana), in the Civil War was in the Mounted Calvary unit (Company H, Twelfth Calvary).  He was fatally wounded in Vienna, Alabama, and buried there Aug. 11, 1864
My great  great grandfather John Noble (England born) came to America in 1858 and joined the US Navy in 1863. He served on the Powhatan under Admiral Farragut.
Spanish-American War:  GG’s father (my  great grandfather) Robert Noble (Ohio b.1876) fought in the Philippine Islands.  Discharged in 1902.
 World War I:  GG’s Uncle (my great great-uncle) William Garfield Noble (b.1891-d.1937) Earned the Bronze Medal for service in WWI.  He was Chauffeur for General John Pershing in France.
World War II:  My Great Uncle Leslie McNabb (he spelled MacNabb) enlisted in the Navy 1917 aboard the USS New Hampshire, Norfolk, VA.  Met a cousin from Ohio in Paris while they both served in the Navy!
My Uncle Robert (Bob) McNabb served in the Navy during the post war years, 1945-46 and was based in San Diego after training in the Great Lakes. He went to college on the GI Bill – to Ohio State University and graduated with a B.A.
